Vanita is a senior solicitor who specialises in Criminal Defence. Since joining the firm she has developed a strong private caseload as well as being committed to public funded legal aid work. She has experience in the preparation of a range of complex cases including serious violent crime, sexual offences, domestic violence, drug offences, offensive weapons and fraud.
As an experienced lawyer she regularly attends police stations and magistrates courts to represent a range of clients for various offences across the spectrum, from public order offences to those of homicide. She also prepares complex Crown Court cases and has often made representations resulting in lesser charges or complete dismissal of the case itself. After finishing her degree Vanita completed the Common Professional Examination/Graduate Diploma in Law (CPE/GDL). vj@mannandco.net
She joined Mann and Co in 2000 as a legal clerk before completing her training as a solicitor. She qualified in 2005. Vanita has a LLP (Hons) in Politics and Social Policy from Hull University (1998) and completed the LPC at Birmingham University in 2000.
